African Youth Waste Network

Creative, enthusiastic, motivated, collaborative
passionate  & trailblazing

… these are just some the words that are used to describe the youth of our generation.

Be the voice of change

Hey, you! We need your help. Did you know that every three seconds, 1000 kilograms of plastic waste enters the ocean? This is happening right now, and this is why Africa Needs You. The African Youth Waste Network (AYWN) is an active platform for collaboration, resource development, and knowledge sharing amongst the youth within and between countries. The African Youth Waste Network in collaboration with Norway is on a mission to reach Zero Plastics to the Seas of Africa. We want healthier and cleaner oceans, and we must act now before it’s too late.

What’s your mission

Are you a singer, writer, future journalist, scientist, or eco-champion between the ages of 9 – 24 years old? Africa needs your voice and fun ideas to help stop plastic pollution entering our oceans.
Are you ready to take up the challenge? Your mission is to work together with other youth to move towards Zero Plastics to the Seas of Africa and become a voice of change.

You Can Do This in any fun and creative way that works best for you. Whether you have started or not, we are here to help you.

Don’t worry, you won’t have to do this on your own. You can get your friends and family to join this movement too. Remember that no action is too small, and you have the voice and power to make an impact.

What’s in it for you?

You will not only be assisting Africa in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, but there are so many benefits that you, your school, and club can take advantage of such as:
