Recycling companies, private citizens and government agencies can also submit information regarding new recycling centres, centres that are not listed on the map yet or centres that have closed. This allows Sean to keep the map updated. Through this public participation, 489 locations of recycling and waste centres in South Africa are listed on the map so far.
Sean is aiming to extend the Recycling and Waste Locations map to other parts of South Africa, as well as Africa. The map is part of creating a waste-related network of people and organisations across Africa that are working towards keeping our seas and land clean in whatever way they can, whether focused on waste-related enterprises or recycling initiatives.
